Knüllwald, a biker’s paradise
Motorcyclists
From our centrally located hotel you can set off on long rides into the nearby upland landscapes. Glorious roads with challenging bends make every ride an experience. Adi himself helps you with ideas for tours and outings in the Knüll hills, around the Edersee or in Thuringia.
A freshly tapped beer arrives as soon as you get off the bike, even before the Wi-Fi password, and you’ve arrived ‘home’. Delicious food from the charcoal grill or a Bavarian Oktoberfest, a biker party and talking shop on the courtyard terrace, right next to the bikes. And no stress.

‘Had another super weekend at Adi’s with 10 bikers (our 3rd time already). We were really well looked after with food and drink (flat rate), simply brilliant. Thanks also to Adi’s wife (breakfast) and to the kitchen crew, who filled us up with schnitzel on Friday and treated us to a barbecue buffet on Saturday. The hotel’s location is great — you’re right in the middle of the Knüllwald and can plan and ride fantastic tours from there. We’ll definitely be back next year.’
Cycling for Pleasure
E-bikers
Enjoy glorious forests, meadows in bloom, endless views and relaxed riding on your routes. Stop off at beer gardens, farm taverns or the natural swimming pool. Explore the half-timbered towns of Melsungen, Rotenburg an der Fulda and Homberg (Efze).
Our ‘Cycling for Pleasure’ package is designed for e-bike groups of 6 or more, Monday to Friday, bookable from 1 April to 31 October. If that block of days doesn’t suit you, just talk to us; we’re flexible, subject to availability.

Knüll Nature Park
Hikers
Two premium hiking trails start practically on the doorstep: ‘Hutewald’, a circular route of around 12 km through a former wood pasture with gnarled old trees, a nature reserve for many years, and ‘Rund um den Rommelsberg’ (around 13 km) from the village centre. Plus the nature park’s fable trails and the half-timbered towns nearby.

Groups & clubs
Haus Gombert is made for celebrating: dining room, lounge, tavern. Plus a programme that’s all set by the time the coach pulls up. Knüller evening with music, covered wagon ride through the Knüllwald, barbecue party from the charcoal grill, DJ party with show acts.

With children and family
Families
The half-timbered house has an apartment for up to four people, with the guest room and courtyard right outside the door. For family gatherings there is the Knüll weekend, and anyone who wants to escape the stress of the holidays spends Christmas and New Year from 22 December 2026 to 2 January 2027 with the Gombert family in the Knüll hills.

Workers & business travellers
Is your crew working in Knüllwald, Homberg (Efze), Melsungen or Bad Hersfeld? With us they all stay together under one roof, everyone in their own single room or in cheaper shared rooms, crews in the apartment for 4 people. There is a large and a small kitchen with fridge to share, plus breakfast or half board if you wish.
