Two premium hiking trails right on the doorstep

‘Hutewald’ premium hiking trail

The Hutewald trail near Knüllwald-Rengshausen, with its gnarled old trees, offers a very special nature experience in the Knüll Nature Park. Mostly on natural, unsurfaced paths, the trail leads to the Hutewald, a 13.6-hectare area that was used as wood pasture until around 1950. With its own distinctive flora and fauna, the Hutewald has been a protected nature reserve for many years.

  • Circular route approx. 12 km
  • Nature reserve
  • natural, unsurfaced paths
  • Starts at Rengshausen

‘Rund um den Rommelsberg’ premium hiking trail

The second premium trail starts in the middle of Rengshausen: across meadows and fields into the forest, over the bridge of the old ‘Kanonenbahn’ railway that once linked Berlin with Koblenz, with wide views of the half-timbered villages in the Knüll. Along the way you follow the Beisetal nature trail, with a ford and a water playground.

  • Circular route approx. 13 km
  • around 4 hours
  • Fable trail in the Knüll Nature Park
  • Starts in Rengshausen

Hiking Week: 4 to 7-day package for groups of 10 or more hikers, on request.
